Testing the Geographic Mosaic
I've just discovered that my first academic publication is now available as an advanced online release. It's a review about coevolution (specifically, John Thompson's "Geographic Mosaic Theory") in the journal Heredity. I'm a very minor coauthor among a group of scientists from UI and Washington State University.
The article itself is on the journal's website here [subscription required for full text]. There's also a podcast including an interview with Dick Gomulkiewicz, the lead author.

hey,
good luck with the dissertation. and congrats on publishing now- definitely a good idea to publish as you go along as it can be painful to go back to after you've graduated (believe me, I know!!). your research sounds really interesting, i hope it goes a long way!!

Thanks, nins. Unfortunately, this wasn't part of my dissertation - it was a real learning experience working on this review, but I'm far from a major contributor. It is awfully nice to have my name on a "real" publication, though, no matter in what capacity.
